Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 bag (30 oz) frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown ground beef with onion and bell pepper in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir in the cooked beef mixture, hash browns, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese.
- Transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for beef if preferred.
- Add a dash of paprika for extra flavor.
- This dish freezes well. Cover tightly before freezing.
