Description
Soft cinnamon rolls filled with spiced apple pie filling and topped with cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 2 cups diced apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Knead into a dough.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Cook apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg for 5 minutes.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread apple filling evenly.
- Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 8 pieces.
- Place rolls in a baking dish. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
- Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Frost warm rolls.
Notes
- Use Granny Smith apples for best results.
- Dough should double in size during rising.
- Let rolls cool slightly before frosting.
