Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Italian sub sandwich baked to perfection with melted cheese and savory toppings.


Ingredients

  • 1 large Italian bread loaf (about 12 inches)
  • 1/4 lb sliced salami
  • 1/4 lb sliced ham
  • 1/4 lb sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 lb sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/4 lb sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced banana peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Italian bread loaf lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on one side and Italian dressing on the other.
  4. Layer salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone, mozzarella, banana peppers, and black olives inside the bread.
  5. Sprinkle oregano and garlic powder over the fillings.
  6. Wrap the sandwich tightly in aluminum foil.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes, then unwrap and bake for another 5 minutes to crisp the bread.
  8. Slice into portions and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can add lettuce and tomatoes after baking for freshness.
  • Adjust the amount of banana peppers for more or less heat.
