Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce


Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape into 4 oval patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until tender.
  5. Add butter and flour, stir to make a roux.
  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth and soy sauce. Simmer until thickened.
  7. Return patties to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  • Cook patties until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
