Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Shape into 4 oval patties.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until tender.
- Add butter and flour, stir to make a roux.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and soy sauce. Simmer until thickened.
- Return patties to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Notes
- Use fresh breadcrumbs for better texture.
- Cook patties until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or buttered noodles.
