Description
A hearty dish combining cheesesteak flavors with loaded bread for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a pan and cook onions and bell peppers until soft. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, cook the sliced ribeye steak until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Slice the Italian bread lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Butter the inside of the bread and layer with cooked steak, onions, bell peppers, and provolone cheese.
- Wrap the loaf in foil and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Unwrap and broil for 2 minutes for a crisp top.
- Slice and serve hot.
Notes
- Use freshly sliced ribeye for best results.
- Adjust cheese quantity to preference.
- Add mushrooms if desired.
