Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper, cook until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Toast the bread slices until golden.
  6. Spoon the beef mixture onto the toast.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  8. Broil for 2 minutes until cheese melts.
  9. Serve warm.
