A simple and delicious crockpot pasta recipe that’s perfect for busy days. Tender pasta, rich sauce, and minimal effort make this a family favorite.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz (225g) uncooked penne pasta
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in a skillet. Drain fat.
- Transfer beef mixture to crockpot.
- Add marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir.
- Add uncooked pasta and water. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or HIGH for 1.5-2 hours.
- Stir well, then top with cheeses.
- Cover for 5 minutes to melt cheese before serving.
Notes
- Stir halfway through cooking if possible
- Add extra water if pasta appears dry
- Substitute ground turkey for lighter version
