Description
A hearty and easy crockpot meal combining the flavors of sloppy joes and cheeseburgers in a pasta dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups beef broth
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Transfer the mixture to a crockpot.
- Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
- Pour in beef broth and mix thoroughly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
- 30 minutes before serving, stir in the uncooked pasta.
- Cover and cook until pasta is tender.
- Sprinkle cheese on top and let melt before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add extra chili powder or hot sauce.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
