Description

A hearty and easy crockpot meal combining the flavors of sloppy joes and cheeseburgers in a pasta dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a crockpot.
  4. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
  5. Pour in beef broth and mix thoroughly.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  7. 30 minutes before serving, stir in the uncooked pasta.
  8. Cover and cook until pasta is tender.
  9. Sprinkle cheese on top and let melt before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add extra chili powder or hot sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
