A creamy and rich soup inspired by the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu dish. This soup combines tender chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth.
- Add shredded chicken, ham, and thyme.
- Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and Swiss cheese until melted.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience.
- For a thicker soup, add more flour.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
