Description
A delicious pasta dish featuring jumbo shells stuffed with seasoned beef and creamy ricotta cheese, baked in a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- 12 oz jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb ground beef
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Stir cooked beef into the ricotta mixture.
- Spread 1 cup marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Fill each shell with the beef and ricotta mixture. Place in the baking dish.
- Top with remaining marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for beef.
- Add spinach to the ricotta mixture for extra nutrition.
- Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
