Description
A simple and delicious Chinese-inspired orange chicken dish that’s quick to make and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 green onion, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Pour the orange sauce over the chicken and stir to coat. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Add to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish with green onion and serve over rice.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, coat the chicken in cornstarch before frying.
- Adjust red pepper flakes for more or less heat.
- Serve with steamed broccoli for a complete meal.
