Description

A healthy version of banana bread made in a crock pot. It’s moist, flavorful, and easy to prepare.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Grease the inside of your crock pot with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, honey, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in chopped nuts if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the crock pot and spread evenly.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • Check the bread after 2 hours to avoid overcooking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
