Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 burger buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat butter and olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions, sugar, and thyme. Cook until caramelized (about 25 minutes).
- Season ground beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 4 patties.
- Grill or pan-fry patties to your preferred doneness.
- Top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese and let it melt.
- Toast the burger buns lightly.
- Assemble burgers with the patty, caramelized onions, and bun.
- Serve warm.
