Instructions

  1. Melt butter with olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onions, sugar, and salt. Cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  3. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Add wine, beef broth, chicken broth, thyme, bay leaf, and black pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes.
