Description
Juicy hamburger steaks smothered in rich onion gravy. A simple, hearty meal ready in under an hour.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Shape into four patties.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onions and cook until soft.
- Sprinkle flour over onions. Stir in beef broth and bring to a boil.
- Return patties to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef for less grease.
- Add mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
