Description
A quick and healthy lasagna recipe for a satisfying dinner after work.
Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (24 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 container (15 oz) part-skim ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain.
- Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in a skillet. Drain fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix ricotta cheese with egg in a bowl.
- Layer 3 noodles in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread half the ricotta mixture, then half the meat sauce, and 1 cup mozzarella.
- Repeat layers. Top with remaining noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 5 more minutes.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Replace ground beef with ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Use no-boil lasagna noodles to save time.
- Add spinach or zucchini for extra vegetables.
