A delicious and healthy twist on traditional Amish apple fritter bread, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup grated apple
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk applesauce, honey, coconut oil, eggs, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in grated apple and walnuts.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing.

- Use fresh apples for best results.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Freeze slices for longer storage.
