A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese, combining the flavors of a bacon cheeseburger with a healthier approach.
Ingredients
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 slices turkey bacon
- 1/4 cup lean ground beef (cooked)
- 1 slice low-fat cheddar cheese
- 1 slice tomato
- 1 tbsp diced onion
- 1 tsp mustard
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook turkey bacon until crispy, then set aside.
- Add diced onion to the pan and sauté until soft.
- Spread mustard on one slice of bread.
- Layer cooked ground beef, turkey bacon, cheese, tomato, and onions on the bread.
- Top with the second slice of bread.
- Grill the sandwich in the pan until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted.
- Serve hot.
