Description

A hearty and healthy twist on the classic biscuits and gravy, this casserole is perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups low-fat milk
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated whole wheat biscuits
  • 1/2 cup shredded low-fat cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the turkey and stir well.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Season with black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  7. Cut biscuits into quarters and place them on top of the turkey mixture.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the biscuits.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
