Ingredients
- 1 pie crust (9-inch)
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, caramelize onions over medium heat until golden brown.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, cream, salt, and pepper.
- Place pie crust in a tart pan. Layer caramelized onions, bacon, and cheese.
- Pour egg mixture over the filling.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until set and golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Use store-bought pie crust for convenience.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of thyme or nutmeg to the egg mixture.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
