Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (9-inch)
  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet, caramelize onions over medium heat until golden brown.
  4. In a bowl, whisk eggs, cream, salt, and pepper.
  5. Place pie crust in a tart pan. Layer caramelized onions, bacon, and cheese.
  6. Pour egg mixture over the filling.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until set and golden.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
