Ingredients
- 2 slices whole grain bread
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 slice low-fat cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Push onions to one side of the pan, add butter to the empty space.
- Crack egg into the buttered area, season with salt and pepper.
- Cook egg to your preferred doneness.
- Toast bread slices lightly.
- Assemble sandwich with egg, onions, and cheese if using.
