Description
A simple and healthy recipe for caramelized onion pork chops, pan-seared to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 pork chops (bone-in, about 1 inch thick)
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Season pork chops with salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt.
- Add pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove pork chops and set aside. In the same pan, add onions.
- Cook onions for 5-7 minutes until caramelized.
- Return pork chops to the pan, cover, and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with onions on top.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for best results (145°F internal temp).
- Rest pork chops for 3 minutes before serving.
