A simple and healthy recipe for caramelized onion pork chops, pan-seared to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 pork chops (bone-in, about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp paprika


Instructions

  1. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt.
  3. Add pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Remove pork chops and set aside. In the same pan, add onions.
  5. Cook onions for 5-7 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Return pork chops to the pan, cover, and simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with onions on top.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer for best results (145°F internal temp).
  • Rest pork chops for 3 minutes before serving.
