Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until soft.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over onions and stir until caramelized. Set aside.
- Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 patties.
- Cook patties on a grill or pan for 4-5 minutes per side.
- Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and let it melt.
- Toast the whole wheat buns lightly.
- Assemble the burgers with caramelized onions and serve.
