Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried split peas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf


Instructions

  1. Rinse the split peas under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, combine peas, onion, carrots, celery, broth, water, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
