Description
A quick and healthy twist on the classic sloppy joe, served on toast with melted cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 4 slices whole wheat bread
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and bell pepper, cook until softened.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Toast the bread slices until golden.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto the toast.
- Sprinkle cheese on top and broil until melted.
- Serve immediately.

- Use ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Add hot sauce for extra spice.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
