Ingredients
- 1 lb lean beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 whole wheat hoagie rolls
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup low-fat provolone cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix minced garlic, parmesan cheese, and olive oil. Spread on hoagie rolls and toast for 5 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add beef and cook for 3 minutes until browned.
- Add bell peppers and onion. Cook for 5 minutes until tender.
- Season with oregano, black pepper, and salt. Stir well.
- Divide beef mixture among toasted rolls. Top with provolone cheese.
- Return to oven for 2 minutes until cheese melts.
- Serve warm.

- Use leftover roast beef for a quicker version.
- Swap beef for chicken or mushrooms for a different flavor.
