Description

A healthier twist on the classic patty melt, featuring lean ground beef, whole grain bread, and a tangy secret sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
  2. Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 thin patties.
  3. Cook patties in the same pan for 3-4 minutes per side until done.
  4. Mix Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to make the secret sauce.
  5. Toast bread lightly. Spread sauce on two slices.
  6. Layer cheese, patty, and caramelized onions on each slice. Top with remaining bread.
  7. Grill sandwiches in a pan until cheese melts and bread is golden, about 2 minutes per side.
