Description
A healthier twist on the classic patty melt, featuring lean ground beef, whole grain bread, and a tangy secret sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef (90% lean)
- 4 slices whole grain bread
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
- Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 thin patties.
- Cook patties in the same pan for 3-4 minutes per side until done.
- Mix Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to make the secret sauce.
- Toast bread lightly. Spread sauce on two slices.
- Layer cheese, patty, and caramelized onions on each slice. Top with remaining bread.
- Grill sandwiches in a pan until cheese melts and bread is golden, about 2 minutes per side.
