Ingredients

  • 8 oz whole wheat pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in milk, Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Toss the sauce with cooked pasta.
  6. Garnish with parsley before serving.
