Description
A healthy and flavorful chicken shawarma recipe perfect for a Christmas dinner. Made in a crockpot for easy preparation and tender results.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and all spices.
- Add chicken thighs to the crockpot and pour the spice mixture over them.
- Coat the chicken evenly with the spices.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Shred the chicken with forks before serving.
Notes
- Serve with pita bread, hummus, and fresh vegetables.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
