Description
A simple and healthy crockpot cube steak recipe that’s easy to prepare and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs cube steak
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the cube steak on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Place the browned steak in the crockpot.
- Add sliced onions and minced garlic on top of the steak.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, and black pepper. Pour over the steak.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the sauce to thicken it before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add mushrooms or bell peppers.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
