Description

A hearty and healthy casserole combining tender beef, caramelized onions, and potatoes cooked to perfection in a crockpot.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, sliced
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded low-fat cheese


Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Layer the sliced potatoes and onions in the crockpot.
  3. Add the browned beef on top.
  4. Pour the beef broth over the mixture.
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder, thyme, and black pepper.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top and cook for another 15 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.
