Description
A healthy twist on traditional stuffed cabbage rolls, made easy in a crockpot with layers of cabbage, lean ground meat, and tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 lb lean ground turkey or beef
- 1 cup cooked brown rice
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
- Mix ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Layer half the chopped cabbage in the crockpot.
- Spread meat mixture evenly over cabbage.
- Top with remaining cabbage.
- Combine tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and oregano. Pour over cabbage.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for再把4 hours.
Notes
- Use lean ground meat to reduce fat.
- Replace brown rice with quinoa for extra protein.
- Freezes well for up to 3 months.
