Description

A quick and healthy twist on traditional pizza using flatbread, caramelized onions, and reduced-fat cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole wheat flatbread
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized (about 15 minutes). Stir in balsamic vinegar.
  3. Place flatbread on a baking sheet. Spread caramelized onions evenly over the flatbread.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. Add thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and edges are crisp.
  6. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder.
  • Use a non-stick pan to prevent onions from sticking.
