Description
A quick and healthy twist on traditional pizza using flatbread, caramelized onions, and reduced-fat cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 whole wheat flatbread
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized (about 15 minutes). Stir in balsamic vinegar.
- Place flatbread on a baking sheet. Spread caramelized onions evenly over the flatbread.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. Add thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and edges are crisp.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder.
- Use a non-stick pan to prevent onions from sticking.
- Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing.
