Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, garlic, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish.
  5. Place 4 noodles over the sauce, then spread half the ricotta mixture.
  6. Repeat layers: sauce, noodles, ricotta.
  7. Top with remaining noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for 10 more minutes until bubbly.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Substitute cottage cheese for ricotta if preferred.
