Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, Parmesan, garlic, oregano, basil, pepper, and salt.
  3. Add mozzarella, egg, and breadcrumbs. Combine well.
  4. Shape mixture into small balls (about 1.5 inches in diameter).
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Brown the beef balls on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
