Healthy Gooey Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs are a delicious and guilt-free snack perfect for any occasion. These bite-sized treats are packed with flavor and feature a gooey mozzarella center wrapped in a soft, healthy biscuit dough.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp dried oregano (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the almond milk and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and flatten each portion into a small circle.
- Place a small amount of shredded mozzarella cheese in the center of each circle, then fold the dough around the cheese to form a ball.
- Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, brush them with the beaten egg, and sprinkle with dried oregano if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour instead of whole wheat flour.
- You can add other herbs or spices to the dough for extra flavor.
