Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat pita breads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onions
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  3. For the tzatziki, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, and dill in a bowl. Mix well.
  4. Warm the pita breads in a skillet or microwave for 30 seconds.
  5. Assemble the gyros by placing chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions on each pita. Top with tzatziki sauce.
  6. Fold the pita and serve immediately.
