Description
A delicious lactose-free lasagna made with cottage cheese, perfect for those avoiding dairy. This dish is packed with protein and flavor while being light and healthy.
Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) lactose-free marinara sauce
- 2 cups lactose-free cottage cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup shredded lactose-free mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated lactose-free parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Stir marinara sauce into the cooked beef. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, egg, basil, oregano, and garlic powder.
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in a 9×13 baking dish.
- Layer 3 noodles, half the cottage cheese mixture, and a third of the meat sauce.
- Repeat layers, ending with noodles and remaining meat sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 10 more minutes.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, replace ground beef with mushrooms or lentils.
- Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
