Description

A healthy lasagna recipe with ricotta and parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 15 oz part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
  3. Brown ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Mix ricotta, parmesan, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella in a baking dish.
  7. Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella on top.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes until bubbly.
  9. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat noodles for extra fiber.
  • Substitute ground turkey with lean beef or chicken.
