Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes (about 1.5 lbs), peeled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter or olive oil
  • 1/4 cup milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)


Instructions

  1. Peel and cube the sweet potatoes into even-sized pieces.
  2. Boil them in a pot of water for 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.
  3. Drain the water and return the sweet potatoes to the pot.
  4. Add butter, milk, salt, pepper, and cinnamon if using.
  5. Mash with a potato masher or blend until smooth.
  6. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm.
