Description

A nutritious bread made with milk and honey for a soft texture and subtle sweetness.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 egg (optional)


Instructions

  1. Warm the milk slightly and dissolve honey in it.
  2. Add yeast to the milk mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix flours and salt in a bowl.
  4. Pour the milk mixture and olive oil into the dry ingredients.
  5. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  6. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased pan.
  8. Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
  10. Cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Use warm milk, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.
  • For a richer taste, brush the top with beaten egg before baking.
  • Store in an airtight container for freshness.
