Crispy and flavorful mini blooming onions made in the air fryer for a healthier twist on the classic appetizer.
Ingredients
- 2 small sweet onions
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel onions and trim the tops. Cut into quarters, leaving the root intact.
- Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Whisk egg and milk in another bowl.
- Coat each onion in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and coat again in flour.
- Place onions in the air fryer basket and spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

- Use small onions for even cooking.
