Ingredients
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Mix flours, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
- Add honey, water, and olive oil. Stir until combined.
- Knead dough for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Shape dough into a round loaf and place on a baking sheet.
- Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 35-40 minutes.
- Cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Freezes well for up to 1 month.
- Substitute honey with maple syrup if preferred.
