A healthier twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, this casserole combines lean beef, peppers, onions, and melted cheese for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup low-fat shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup low-fat cream cheese
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and peppers, cook for 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and ground beef, cook until beef is browned.
- Drain excess fat.
- Spread beef mixture in a baking dish.
- Top with cream cheese and mozzarella.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese melts.

- Use whole wheat breadcrumbs for extra fiber.
