Description
Quick and easy Asian-style pickled white onions ready in 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 large white onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 red chili, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Slice onion thinly and place in a clean jar.
- Heat vinegar, water, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan until sugar dissolves.
- Pour hot liquid over onions in jar.
- Add chili if using.
- Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Use on tacos, salads, or sandwiches.
- Adjust sugar and vinegar to taste.
