Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
- 1 package whole wheat biscuit dough
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and sprinkle with cheese.
- Top with flattened biscuit dough pieces, covering the surface.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
