Ingredients
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg (optional for brushing)
Instructions
- Dissolve honey in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over it and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Divide dough into 12 equal pieces, shape into rolls, and place on a baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush with beaten egg (optional) and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.

- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Freeze for longer storage.
