Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef (90% lean)
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 1 cup mixed greens
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup low-fat mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and shape into balls.
- Place each ball on the hot skillet and press down firmly with a spatula to create a thin patty.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until fully browned and cooked through.
- Toast the buns lightly for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the burgers with patties, mixed greens, tomato, red onion, mayonnaise, and mustard.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use a cast-iron skillet for better sear.
- For extra crispiness, press the patties again after flipping.
