Description

A healthy twist on classic lasagna with creamy layers and rich flavor.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
  3. Brown turkey with onion and garlic in a skillet.
  4. Stir marinara sauce into the turkey mixture.
  5. Mix ricotta, egg, parmesan, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, turkey sauce, and mozzarella in a baking dish.
  7. Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella on top.
  8. Bake covered for 25 minutes, then uncovered for 15 minutes.
  9. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat noodles for extra fiber.
  • Substitute ground chicken for turkey if preferred.
