Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or hot)
  • 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into pieces.
  4. Remove sausage and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté peppers, onion, and garlic until softened.
  6. Add diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in cooked sausage.
  8. Transfer mixture to a baking dish and top with mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve hot.
